A man in his 30s has been injured following a shooting in Co. Louth this evening.
The incident occurred on the Bridge of Peace in Drogheda at around 6.20pm and is believed to be connected to the ongoing gang feud in the town.
The victim, who is understood not to have been the intended target, was driving a taxi when a number of shots were fired at his vehicle.
He has been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road is sealed off for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí said their investigations are ongoing.
Louth TD Fergus O'Dowd said he was "very concerned" but that the Gardaí and Armed Response Unit are very visible in the town.
He said that additional Gardaí and checkpoints had been added in the area in recent months.
Mr O'Dowd said: "They can't stop every act of violence and I regret very much that [the shooting] has happened."
