On the show yesterday, Mairead got a message from a listener while Des Bishop was on talking about his sex and relationships podcast. Debra had been in a relationship for 5 years, and it was recently ended by text. Debra was heartbroken and was looking for advice on how to get back into the dating game, so she knows what to do when she's ready to get back into it. She's not sure about Tinder or other dating apps after she had a strange experience on Tinder a few years back.
We put it out to our lovely listeners are you certainly delivered! Here's just a few of the messages sent in for Debra:
"Debra embrace it! I would highly recommend Plenty Of Fish, it's a great way to chat to someone and also check out their FB Instagram to see does it line up with what they are about. I met my partner of 6 years there and we're best friends!!"
"Tell her to go to Coppers, I met my wife there and we'll be together 10 years in January."
"That girl might be upset now but she'll be glad in time. I married a girl I wasn't sure about and now even though I love our kids, I regret going through with it as we've nothing in common and spend our evenings in separate rooms."
"Tell her she is better off! What a toad! She should focus on being happy being on her own! Find a hobby, join a group that does something you always wanted - something new, wall climbing is great and the instructors are hot"
"So sorry this happened to her. It happened to my best friend 3 weeks after getting engaged he pulled the rug in a shocking move. I bought her Paul McKenna book on how to heal a broken heart. She said it really helped. Good luck to her xxx"
"That girl needs to focus on herself and do things she always wanted to do. She'll realise he didn't deserve her in the first place and she will find someone who does when she builds her confidence back up, and it will be when she is least expecting it!!"
